GuitarMania
GuitarMania was a public art exhibit that
celebrated artistic excellence and diversity in Greater Phoenix and
provided an opportunity to raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of
Central Arizona and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum Education
Fund. 10-foot-tall fiberglass Fender Stratocaster guitars were
transformed into works of art. The Rock
n’ Penny Roll
guitar is covered with approximately 10,000
pennies. All of the pennies came from my lifelong collection of pennies
and donations from friends. No pennies were bought specifically for
this project. It took almost 100 hours to complete the guitar. Look
closely, the front is “heads” and the back is “tails”. Guitars were
on display throughout Greater Phoenix from September 2005 - February
2006.
